Being a scholar athlete has supported my transition to college as I have received a great deal of support and mentorship from other athletes and coaches, which has led to a thriving program culture that has allowed us to be positive role models for our community. The Whittier Women's Soccer program has allowed me to contribute both on and off the field by participating in community outreach events such as the Special Olympics and strengthening leadership abilities that I first developed with Onward Scholars. This experience has strengthened my dedication to teamwork, academic performance, and passion for service.
